Bridget has pitched to Meg, but the ball is headed to the ground shy of home plate.Meg: That pitch wasn't your strongest. | Bridget: Your strike zone is 20 centimeters high.Zeke examines home plate. | Zeke: Hey, check out the impact crater!Meg: Aren't impact craters supposed to be round? This one's all slidey.Bridget: The ball just glanced the earth. Maybe impacts are all head-on in outer space. | Meg: Why would that happen?Bridget: Could all the sideways meteorites be skipping off the atmosphere, like a stone over a lake? | Meg: Nope, the Moon barely even has an atmosphere.Zeke: Could gravitational lensing be responsible?Meg stares at Zeke thru partially-closed eyelids.Zeke: Okay, I admit I have no idea what that means.
